AGRIGENTO

Agrigento is teeming with monuments that illustrate the splendour of Sicily's past, a melting pot of different ages and cultures, and is a must for history lovers. Venture to the town's historic core, lined with medieval streets or journey south to discover the Valley of the Temples, where the Ancient Greeks left their impressive legacy of the most breathtaking temples outside of Greece.

CAPO D'ORLANDO
This charming seaside resort is graced with sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. In addition to its selection of al fresco restaurants, cafés and boutiques, visitors are able to explore the nearby Aeolian islands using the hydrofoil links, which are available during the summer months.

CEFALÙ

The captivating seaside town of Cefalù combines tangled medieval streets, ringing with history with some of the best golden beaches in Sicily. Here a bundle of sights are ripe for exploration, from the glorious mosaics of the Duomo to the churches that populate the centre. After you have absorbed the fascinating history of the Ancient Temple of Diana, the site is an ideal vantage point to capture some spectacular mountain views.

ERICE

A leisurely stroll along the cobbled streets of Erice winds through concealed inner courtyards, filled with the scent of flowers, and up to the Castello di Venere. Enthroned on a hillside, this Norman Castle enjoys breathtaking vistas of the Egadi Islands and Trapani, and when the skies are clear, Tunisia's mauve-blue coast sparkles on the horizon.

MAZARA DEL VALLO

Mazara del Vallo is surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty, a region famous for it's sweet Marsala wine. This quaint fishing port originally flourished under Arab Rule, and the old quarter is evocative of the past and people the town has inherited.

PALERMO

Palermo is the capital of Sicily, a cosmopolitan centre of artistic and cultural life, which embraces an atmosphere bristling with the rainbow of Arab, Norman and Spanish influences that make up its tumultuous history. With a mild, pleasant climate, stately buildings, inspirational monuments, and a vibrant street market, Palermo enchants and captivates many visitors year after year.

SYRACUSE

Syracuse was originally a Greek settlement, resting between two natural harbours, and jutting out from the Ortigia peninsula. Today the old city retains a certain medieval charm, in it's maze of dusty streets that snake towards a Baroque Duomo.

TAORMINA

Taormina has inspired great travellers and writers for many decades. It is widely considered to be the most beautiful town in Sicily, as visitors are greeted by groves of semi-tropical palms, bougainvillea and orange trees enclosed by pedestrianized streets and lively piazzas. Sicily's Monte Tauro is crowned by Taormina, which enjoys stunning seascapes with Mount Etna rising in the distance, and breathtaking views over two rugged bays below.

VULCANO

According to legend, the Greek god Vulcan had his workshop at the towering peak of the island's volcano. Volcanic activity may have ceased, but visitors take the two-hour walk to the top, for a godlike view over the glittering sea. Back on the beach, the waterside caves make for some excellent swimming, whilst the volcanic mud in Vulcano's thermal springs is said to be therapeutic for skin and back problems.
